Jag märkte att också Erik hade noterat dagens konferens i Helsingfors, Meeting of Minds 2003. Jag råkade också läsa om evenemanget här under veckan och blev genast ivrig - intressanta ämnen (The Future of Copyrighted Media, Riding the Wave of Personal Publishing, Creating Celebrity, Protecting Privacy), bra talare och dessutom i egen stad. Ganska snabbt ändrade jag mig:

"Meeting of Minds Participant Registration €1250 Includes a priority seat in the Meeting of Minds’03, Dinner card and 10 copies of the Exposure book"

Riktigt patetiskt - 1250 € för en dag! För den summan torde man få en riktigt bra måltid och en extra mjuk "priority seat". Och varför måste man betala för 10 st böcker, speciellt när böckerna innehåller samma sak som man redan hört på seminariet? Jag förstår att det är företag som skall betala dom här summorna, men också inom industri och handel brukar eftermiddagssemiarier sällan vara så här svinaktigt dyra. Dessutom är det nu frågan om ämnen som torde vara intressanta för småföretag och frivilligorganisationer. Tydligen lever nån ännu kvar i internetbubblan!

Hellre går man på onsdag och lyssnar på Helsinki Institute for Information Technologys Creative Commons-presentation. Också där talar Cory Doctorow.
